Intro
Are you ready to communicate confidently with your European peers and bring a global perspective to your classroom?
“Enhance Your English Language Skills for Intercultural Communication” is designed to help youth professionals, educators and cultural activity creators transform their hesitation in speaking English into fluent, confident cross-cultural communication.
The course includes a variety of activities, such as conversation practice, critical thinking discussions, and vocabulary building, to help you improve your English fluency. Develop your confidence in everyday communication and learn practical ways to communicate effectively in an international environment.
Who is this for?
This course is tailored for education, cultural and youth professionals of all levels – including teachers, leaders, counselors, mentors, camp leaders, extracurricular activity coordinators, and more – who want to improve their English language skills.
No prior advanced English experience (A1-B1 level is ideal) is required. Participants will benefit from an international learning experience while traveling with Erasmus+.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Enhance everyday vocabulary: Expand your grammar and vocabulary development to confidently engage in discussions.
- Master pronunciation and rhythm: Improve your pronunciation, intonation, and stress to sound more natural when speaking.
- Correct common errors: Identify and fix common mistakes to build confidence in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Navigate idiomatic language: Understand colloquial language and phrasal verbs for smoother, everyday interactions.
- Apply critical thinking: Engage in critical thinking activities and discussions on current affairs to deepen your comprehension.
- Embrace the student perspective: Gain experience as a language learner to refresh and inspire your own teaching methods.
Modules
- Module 1: The foundations of fluency. Dive into grammar, vocabulary development, and common error correction to build a solid language base.
- Module 2: Finding your voice. Focus on pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, and stress to speak naturally and confidently.
- Module 3: Speaking like a local. Explore idiomatic expressions, colloquial language, and phrasal verbs for everyday intercultural dialogue.
- Module 4: Reading and writing with purpose. Develop essential reading and writing skills through interactive exercises and practical texts.
- Module 5: Critical thinking in English. Participate in discussions on cross-cultural topics and current affairs, applying different educational frameworks.
- Module 6: The intercultural exchange. Step into the shoes of a language student, share best practices with your European peers, and build a lasting cross-border network.
