Intro
An intensive course for teachers, youth leaders and educators in all disciplines
This one-week course will focus on the techniques and theory through practice in the way we are using our creativity to produce interesting short stories and drama games in the educational environment. During the course of this seminar the participants will learn how to create interesting stories through creativity games and how to use drama games in their educational environments through the famous method of Stanislavski. This course is really based on practical techniques through games and improvisation. One week of games, creativity and acting on the beautiful island of Corfu!
Objectives:
The aim of this hands-on course is for the participants to learn how to create interesting scripts using their creativity and how to use drama games in their educational environment in order to make their students more interested in the class and to make the structure of their educational programmes and teaching more playful through the method of Stanislavski.
Modules and course schedule:
Each teaching day consists of a theoretical part and a practical workshop. Workshops are designed to put the elements discussed and taught in the theoretical part into practice. The precise length of each section will vary by topic. Notes and handouts will be given each day, and participants will have the opportunity to develop their own materials within the workshop.
– Module 1: Ice breaking activities and introduction: From ideas to stories. An interactive workshop on creative ideation
– Module 2: Participants will be introduced to Stanislavski’s method of acting (Units and Objectives) through theory and drama games
– Module 3: Participants will be introduced to advanced drama games and imagination techniques
– Module 4: Participants will create their own fictional polar characters and their full psychological profile
– Module 5: Participants will create drama games and improvisation acts based on their characters. Evaluation.
Follow-up:
Attendees will receive handouts and self-evaluation forms as well as feedback forms on the course itself. Social networking will be set up to maintain contact after the end of the course and continue any discussions begun during the course, as well as to exchange feedback on how the skills taught in the course are being implemented.
Additional modules are available for subject-specific topics, and these can be delivered at a later date or via webinar.
