Intro
Are you ready to explore filmmaking as a creative way to tell stories and express ideas?
“Filmmaking, creativity and storytelling” gives participants the opportunity to explore the creative process of making a film, from developing an idea and building a story to filming and presenting a finished product.
This course includes activities such as scriptwriting, exploring storytelling structures, developing characters, and experimenting with mobile filmmaking. Participants will discover how images, sound, movement, and storytelling can come together to create engaging films.
Who is this for?
This course is tailored for education, cultural and youth professionals of all disciplines – including teachers, leaders, counselors, mentors, camp leaders, extracurricular activity coordinators, and more – who want to enhance teaching through digital storytelling.
No prior filmmaking or scriptwriting expertise is required. Just curiosity and a willingness to explore creative storytelling frameworks. Participants will benefit from an international learning experience while traveling with Erasmus+.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Develop storytelling skills: Explore storytelling structures and techniques for creating engaging scripts and film narratives.
- Explore filmmaking tools: Experiment with mobile phones and other accessible technologies to support the filmmaking process.
- Develop film ideas: Turn an initial idea into a story, develop characters, and plan the basic elements of a film.
- Explore film production: Gain practical experience in preparing and carrying out simple filming activities in different settings.
- Develop editing skills: Explore basic editing techniques to combine footage, sound, and images into a coherent story.
- Create short films: Work creatively and collaboratively to develop and produce a short film using the techniques explored during the course.
Modules
- Module 1: Story and creativity. Participate in introductory activities and creative exercises exploring the basic elements of storytelling and film.
- Module 2: Story development and scriptwriting. Explore storytelling structures, develop ideas and characters, and experiment with writing scenes and short scripts.
- Module 3: Creative tools. Experiment with AI and other digital tools that can support idea generation, writing, visual development, and the creative process.
- Module 4: Production planning. Develop a film idea and explore the practical steps involved in preparing for filming.
- Module 5: Mobile filmmaking. Explore the basics of filming with mobile devices and put your skills into practice by shooting scenes for a short film.
- Module 6: Editing and exhibition. Explore basic editing techniques and bring footage together into a finished story, followed by group screenings and feedback.
Course Outcomes
- Develop creative storytelling skills: Explore ways to develop ideas, characters, scenes, and stories for film.
- Experiment with digital filmmaking tools: Use mobile devices, AI, and other accessible digital tools throughout the creative process.
- Develop film ideas: Turn creative ideas into stories and short film concepts.

- Develop creative confidence: Experiment with filmmaking and storytelling in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Equipment
Participants will need to bring their smartphone and a laptop to effectively utilize mobile filmmaking and editing applications during the course.

The Holy Rock of Acropolis dates back to the 5th BC, the famous Golden Age of Periklis. Athens met times of bloom and decline, but still shines under the Attic sky gazing the future. Still sparkling like the marbles of Parthenon and the limpid white of Pentelic marble.
