Intro
A vehicle to exploring and understanding science, maths and technology.
Nowadays there is a growing trend towards integrating new technologies into teaching and training.
The use of educational robotics as a teaching/learning tool encourages students in guided discovery, and in problem-solving. Students get used to working in groups, solving problems, finding solutions, and verifying the results. In Many European schools Technology, Computer Science and Programming/Coding are beginning to appear in curricula, creating increasing demands upon teachers at all levels from primary level education to upper secondary school and beyond.
This course aims to help teachers understand the potential of using Robotics in education in order to engage their students more. General information and pedagogical methods will be coupled with hands on practical sessions.
Throughout the course, participants will have time to reflect on how the tools and practices being introduced can be embedded successfully in their classroom.
The purpose of the course is helping teachers learn how to design and implement science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) lessons using robotics. The need to prepare students with twenty-first-century skills through STEM-related teaching is strong as properly taught classes in robotics are having a significant impact on the development of mathematical literacy and scientific-technical information and social competences.
OBJECTIVES
-Enrichment of the professional profile of participants involved
-Acquaintance with LEGO Mindstorms building kits and LabView programming
-Promotion of technology and robotics in schools as transversal components of the school curricula.

Destination:
Corfu is a beautiful green island, which enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate. Corfu is a very popular tourist destination. Up until the early 20th century, it was mainly visited by the European royals and elites. It is still popular with the global elite. The island’s history is laden with battles and conquests. Corfu was long controlled by Venice and repulsed several Turkish sieges, before falling under British rule following the Napoleonic Wars. Corfu was eventually ceded by the British Empire along with the remaining islands of the United States of the Ionian Islands, and unification with modern Greece was concluded in 1864 under the Treaty of London. Corfu is renowned for its long tradition and rich culture which is unlike any other Greek island. In 2007, the city’s old city was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you will also discover a compact world of beautiful beaches and stunning mountain peaks, ancient ruins and picturesque villages. There is something for everyone on the island, whether you prefer peace and quiet or a lively cosmopolitan destination.
